In 1530, Bingo’s original name was Lo Giuoco del Lotto D’Italia, and it was played every Saturday in Italy. When the game was renamed Le Lotto in late 1770, Frenchmen became enthralled with it. Originally known as Beano, it was renamed Bingo by a New York salesman.
Bingo tickets in the United States have numbers chosen at random from 75 possible numbers, while in the United Kingdom the numbers are chosen at random from 90 possible numbers.
